OMG. SHANGHAI.
Okay, so lets get a couple of things sorted out. Who am I? What am I? Where am I going? All the in and outs of this blog. Why am I starting this, why I want to share my experience, and all that good stuff. But in all seriousness, first things first, my name is Araceli Crescencio. I am a 19 year old Latina. I am a sophomore at Pepperdine University, who is beginning her second year in Shanghai! The people's Republic of China, is about to get to know me. A bit of a pretentious entrance, but in all honesty I am so stoked to be able to have this life changing opportunity. Studying abroad has always been a dream of mine, and to actually be embarking on such an amazing journey is almost, unbelievable.
So a little bit more about myself, is that I am Mexican-American, the daughter of immigrant parents, and the middle child. I am in love with soccer, a John Green lover, a John Oliver lover, and a fanatic of the Mindy Project. I am an aspiring journalist and economist. LOL.
I think I'm sharing this blog, to give my loved ones the agency to choose wether or not they want to keep up with my life. I think writing a blog will give them the time availability to know whats poppin' in my life without having to worry about time zones and scheduling me in their busy schedules. Plus, I've always wanted to write a blog. I think my writing will improve, and the process of actually editing it, taking care of it, and loving it (my blog), will be a very fun process. So if any of you beloved and lovely people out there reading this, ever want to provide feedback, I'd truly appreciate it. I would love interaction. But be nice :) In addition to this, perhaps I might just motivate anybody who reads my blog (thxX1000) to go abroad, or to just try new things. Plus I will try so HARD to make my blog informative, comical, modern, and awesome. SO KEEP READING.
Hmph. So heres my first story.
Of course, you know me, I always tend to leave things to the last minute. For example, I finished packing at 2 am last night. And I had to fly out at 6:25 am. LOL. Also, since I am a freaking idiot with a determined mindset, I decided that I didn't want to burden anyone to drive me to or from airports once in LA. So for those who don't know me? (In hopes of having a successful blog that people actually read, I feel obligated to include background info at times) I am a Nashvillian and dang proud of it. So, I flew out to LA today Tuesday, September, 6. And since previously stated, I didn't want to bother anyone, I decided that I could fly in to LAX since my group flight leaves from here, on the same day my group flight leaves. This may seem perfectly normal but let me explain, airports hate me. And in order to do this, I had to fly in to LAX and arrive at 9:00 am. There's only one problem, I have to wait at the airport until 8:00 pm to meet up with my fellow peers. So I am currently waiting in the airport. It's only 1:13 pm. Plus I'm hungry. But like how do I manage to get food when I have 2 suitcases with me, a carry on, and a backpack. Geez. But, Queen Bee is making life bearable. :)
- Also, 2 days ago, I DM'd Bee on Insta, and asked her to pay for my college tuition. Like I actually did that. But hey, who knows? :)
